What Cardia covers

Manufacturing operations, connected

Cardia is configured from these capability areas. Each project uses the ones your operation needs, shaped to your processes.

Production execution

Release and track production orders through each operation on the shop floor.

Real-time tracking

Live status of lines, machines and orders, fed directly from your control systems.

Performance & OEE

Availability, performance and quality tracked, with downtime reasons captured.

Quality

In-process checks and inspection results recorded against each order and batch.

Traceability

Which materials, machines and people were involved in every batch or unit.

Materials & WIP

Material consumption and work in progress visible between operations.

Work instructions

The right instructions and documents shown at each workstation.

Integration

Connects down to SCADA and PLCs and up to ERP, with inShift for shifts and safety.

Where MES fits

The bridge between machines and business

In the ISA-95 model, MES sits at Level 3, manufacturing operations. It turns plans from the business layer into executed production, and turns raw signals from the control layer into production facts the business can trust.

  • Up: to ERPReceives orders and returns confirmed production, consumption and quality results.
  • Alongside: inShiftShift plans, handovers and Permit to Work for the people running production.
  • Down: to control systemsReads machine and process data from Inplux SCADA, PLCs and other control systems.
ISA-95 automation levels Four stacked layers: Level 4 business planning (ERP), Level 3 manufacturing operations (Cardia MES and inShift), Level 2 supervisory control (Inplux SCADA), and Levels 1 to 0 control and field devices. Data flows up and instructions flow down between adjacent layers.
