inShift – Shift Management & Permit to Work
One web platform for enterprise factories to plan and log shifts, hand over safely between crews, and control hazardous work through a complete digital Permit to Work (PTW) process — with every action recorded.
Shift management
- Plant structure — enterprises, factories, areas, units and machines, with departments and employees.
- Shift patterns — shift masters generate each day’s shifts automatically and assign them to areas.
- Recurring tasks — task masters with flexible repeat rules create task instances per shift and flag what is due.
- Shift logs — a structured record of what happened on every shift.
- Shift handover — outgoing crews submit a handover; incoming crews review and formally accept it.
- Planning & reports — planning calendar, current-shift view, dashboards and task reports.
Permit to Work
- Permit types & templates — reusable permit templates, checklists and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) templates.
- JSA, hazards & PPE — job steps with specific hazards and required PPE, from central hazard and PPE masters.
- Two-stage approval — safety review, then plant/management review; each can approve, reject or return for changes.
- Isolations & gas tests — isolations applied, verified and removed; gas test results recorded on the permit.
- Contractors & workforce — contractor records, named workforce per permit and attendance tracking.
- Live control — issue, activate, suspend, revalidate, resume, revoke-and-clone, complete and close, with checkpoints along the way.
Permit lifecycle in inShift
- Draft
- Submitted
- Safety review
- Plant review
- Issued
- Active
- Work complete
- Closed
Active permits can be suspended, revalidated and resumed, or revoked and re-issued as a new permit. Every transition is written to the permit’s audit log.
Clash detection for simultaneous work
When a permit is submitted, inShift checks it against other open permits and rates each overlap: critical for the same machine or contradictory work in the same unit (such as hot work alongside confined-space or flammable work), medium for the same unit and low for the same area. Clashes must be resolved, cancelled or explicitly accepted as a risk.
Role-based access
Built-in roles for administrators, PTW administrators, plant managers, safety officers, supervisors, operators and contractors, backed by granular permissions per module.
