Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using Carnatic Music Tools ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Carnatic Music Tools on iOS and Android devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App for any commercial purpose or for any public display
• Remove any proprietary notices or labels from the App

Educational Use & Accuracy

Carnatic Music Tools is a practice aid. Raga definitions, tala structures, sarali varisai patterns, and the pitch scoring shown in the Raga Trainer are provided for practice and study purposes only.

Carnatic music is a living tradition with legitimate variation between schools (bani), teachers, and regional practice. Arohana and avarohana given in the App follow common conventions and may differ from what your guru teaches. Where they differ, follow your teacher.

The App is not a substitute for a teacher. Pitch and timing scores are indicative measurements produced by signal analysis, not an assessment of musicality, and should not be treated as an authoritative judgement of your singing.

Microphone & Hearing Safety

Pitch detection depends on your device's microphone and on ambient conditions. Background noise, room acoustics, and microphone quality all affect accuracy, and the App may misidentify notes in poor conditions.

The Metronome and the drone produce sound. Please set a comfortable volume, particularly when using headphones, and take regular breaks.

Intellectual Property

The Carnatic Music Tools name, logo, and all original content within the App are the intellectual property of LIDAVI Technologies Private Limited. All rights are reserved.

Raga names, talas, compositions, and the theory of Carnatic music referenced in the App are part of the public cultural heritage of the tradition and of the communities that sustain it.

Advertising

Carnatic Music Tools is free and contains no advertising. If this ever changes, these Terms and the Privacy Policy will be updated before any advertising is introduced.

Availability & Updates

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time without prior notice. We may also update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LIDAVI Technologies Private Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App or reliance on any content within the App.

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes arising from use of the App shall be resolved in the appropriate jurisdiction.

App Store Terms

Your use of Carnatic Music Tools downloaded from the Apple App Store is also subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.

Use of the Android version obtained from Google Play is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
