The short version: ColdCopy is an offline backup tool. Your photos, contacts, and calendars are copied directly to your drive. Nothing is uploaded to our servers — we don't have any servers that touch your content.

With your permission, ColdCopy reads your photo library to find files that haven't been backed up yet. Files are copied directly from your phone to your connected USB or SMB drive. They are never uploaded to the internet, never cached on Lidavi infrastructure, and never transmitted to any third party by the app itself.
If you enable the Contacts backup option, ColdCopy reads your contacts and writes a single vCard (.vcf) file to your drive. This export happens entirely on-device.
If you enable the Calendar backup option, ColdCopy reads your calendar events and writes an iCalendar (.ics) file to your drive. This export happens entirely on-device.
ColdCopy stores a local database (SQLite, inside the app's private sandbox) that tracks which files have been backed up to which drive. This database never leaves your device.
Settings such as appearance mode, notification preferences, and HEIC conversion choice are stored in local device storage (UserDefaults on iOS, SharedPreferences on Android) — never shared outside your device.
The free version of ColdCopy displays banner and interstitial ads served by Google AdMob. Upgrading to ColdCopy Pro removes all ads permanently.
When ads are active, Google may collect device identifiers and usage signals to serve relevant ads. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. On iOS, ColdCopy presents the App Tracking Transparency prompt before any personalised advertising is enabled. On Android, a consent dialog is shown in accordance with Google's User Messaging Platform. You can decline in both cases — ads will still appear but will be non-personalised.
Pro users: the Google Mobile Ads SDK is never initialised for your session. No ad network traffic is generated.
ColdCopy Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase processed entirely by the platform's store — Apple App Store on iOS or Google Play on Android. Lidavi never receives or stores your payment information. Purchases are verified locally by the platform's billing APIs (StoreKit 2 on iOS, Google Play Billing on Android) — no server-side receipt validation is performed by Lidavi.
ColdCopy does not embed any third-party analytics SDK. We do not collect usage statistics, session data, or event logs beyond the aggregate, anonymised analytics that Apple App Store and Google Play provide to developers automatically (no personally identifiable information).
Files copied to your USB or network drive are under your control. Lidavi has no access to that drive and no ability to read, modify, or delete files there. A hidden folder (.coldcopy/) is created on the drive to store the backup manifest — this contains only file names, sizes, and checksums, not the file contents themselves.
ColdCopy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
